Course Content

1: Storyboarding basics
A storyboard helps you see and fix a learning experience before you build it. In this module you'll learn what a storyboard is, what makes a learning storyboard different and what real storyboards look like. Then you'll choose the small learning idea you'll work on for the rest of the course.

  • 1.1 What a storyboard is
  • 1.2 What makes a learning storyboard different
  • 1.3 What storyboards look like
  • 1.4 Your project idea

2: Learning design first
Before you fill in a storyboard, decide what learners should be able to do, how they'll practise it, what shows they can do it and what you'll tell them about their answer. Every storyboard has to record these decisions, so it's quicker to make them first.

3: Building a storyboard
Now turn your learning design into a storyboard someone can build from. You'll adapt a template to the people who'll use it, map a short sequence, plan one row in full and list the media it needs. Add only as much detail as the people involved need.

4: Storyboarding with AI
An AI tool can now draft much of a first storyboard from a good brief. In this module you'll see how storyboarding has changed, brief an AI tool, draft and review your storyboard in stages, and run the final checks before anyone builds it. You stay responsible for the final design.
